The 2012 Mayan Prophecies and Why You Should Take Them Seriously

The 2012 Mayan prophecies were left by the Classic Mayan over 2000 years ago. Graphic stories were written in stone on their buildings and stelae in Central America. The most profound was a December 21, 2012 Mayan prophecy of a rare cosmic alignment between our sun, earth and the galactic center of the Universe.

On the same day, the earth and our galaxy made a journey we haven't traveled in almost 26,000 years. These two synchronized events are predicted in the 2012 Mayan prophecies to drastically change our spiritual values. These changes are in full development and will continue for some time yet to come beyond 2012.

So what is the significance of the December 21, 2012 Mayan prophecies?

The 2012 Mayan prophecies predicted not only a major shift in our thinking and our values, but also our level of spiritual development. How could they know this?

The Maya devoted their entire lives to watching the cosmos. They recreated in stone and through the strategic layout of their buildings, an event to take place two thousand years into the future in 2012.

According to the Maya we've been living in a time of darkness. But an era of light and great hope is predicted after our sun and galaxy crosses over the galactic equator on December 21st, in their 2012 Mayan prophecy. It is then humanity will begin to wake up again to their inner wisdom.

The Maya were obsessed with tracking present, future and past events in the night sky. The Pre-Classic Maya noticed interesting phenomena from Izapa, a ceremonial center occupied about 1500 B.C. The background universe of the Milky Way was slowly changing.

This change was in relation to our foreground galaxy with our own sun. It could be that this realization triggered massive research by the Pre-Classic Maya and spawned the discovery of the great change to take place December 21st, in their 2012 Mayan prophecies.

Scientists know this change as precession.

Scientists have proven both of these alignments did in fact happen through precession. Precession is caused by a gradual shift in the orientation of the Earth's axis of rotation. The earth doesn't spin straight up and down, but on an angle like a wobbling top.

This wobble traces out a conical shape in a cycle that takes approximately...26,000 years to complete. The peak of the last ice age was the beginning of this cycle. As surprising as it may seem, the Classic Maya knew about these overlapping cycles. The Maya Long Count Calendar was based on them. This Grand Cycle ends on...December 21st, according to the 2012 Mayan prophecies.

Our galaxy has crossed over the galactic center of the Milky Way. The 2012 Mayan prophecy knew these cross-overs to be a time of great change spiritually. The most important change, is humanity is waking up and taking back their personal power.

It's during this crossing the December solstice sun aligns with the cosmic womb of creation, the great bulge in the Milky Way near the dark rift. This alignment opens an opportunity for Earth's rebirth to a higher level of consciousness in the 2012 Mayan prophecies.

The Classic Maya were considered primitive by our standards. They didn't even have a wheel. But many Mayan scholars feel the Classic Maya were in many ways more advanced in their understanding of the cosmos and mathematics then we are today.

This highly developed mathematics was used to create the Mayan Long Count calendar with the mysterious end date of December 21st in their 2012 Mayan prophecy. Mayan shaman-kings, with the aid of hallucinogens were able to make spiritual journeys back to the beginning of time and out into the future. They traveled to the birthplace of creation, the great bulge in the Milky Way that's visible with your naked eye. Their messages are written in stone.

The Maya were in touch with the oneness of all things. Quantum Physics, a newer science, has verified this oneness. Everything, including us is made of energy right down to the smallest molecule. This energy is the same for all things in the universe.

The Maya spent their lives tracking and recording the universe. They believed that what happened above happened below. In other words the cosmos and events on earth mirrored each other. Past, present and future events could be predicted or verified by tracking precession changes in the universe and the alignments of our sun with other parts of the universe. Even the bible says, "As above, so below."

These same beliefs are shared by the Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese, and most ancient cultures. The Age of Aquarius is a good example of how cultures thousands of miles apart thought the same.

So why would the Maya care about an event over 2,000 years into the future?

Some Mayan scholars feel the Classic Maya were spiritual avatars. To the ancient Maya everything went in a circle including history. Death and rebirth spiraled to higher and higher levels of consciousness till perfection was attained. So you may say they were looking out for the best interests of the universe and mankind.

They believed that the earth itself was what would rise in consciousness. Everything on the earth is just part of the earth body and its process. It is said they came to Central America from the universe. Their mission was to prepare the earth for this amazing world-altering event in their 2012 Mayan prophecies. You many not have expected this answer. But, I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Jose Arguelles author of the Mayan Factor has this to say: "Indeed taken as a whole, the Baktun 9 Classic Maya centers appear as a veritable cosmic calling card. "Oh, you of the Earth," the monuments seem to sing out to us, "those who built us have been here, appearing as humans, like you, oh Earthlings. Can you not see, can you not understand what it is that we have left for you? Could you but open your eyes without attachment, you would see and know the gift that awaits you."

Some Mayan scholars believe this was not the Classic Mayas first time on earth.

So did this phenomenal event unfold in the last few years before the 2012 Mayan prophecies date?

The CLEANSING the Maya predicted is what we are experiencing even after 2012 on a global, as well as, personal level. Everything is affected from governments, economy, personal relationships, and the environment. Change can be a painful process, especially when it's fought. But, it doesn't have to be if you understand that the old has to go to make room for the new.

If the end of the Great Cycle means anything, it most emphatically does not mean the actual physical destruction of the planet. It heralds the death of an outmoded level of consciousness that no longer serves humanity's needs. The end of all our carefully cherished assumptions about life and the universe will surely be a painful experience, and is bound to have painful repercussions in the political and social world. The Maya said an era based on LOVE, UNITY, BROTHERHOOD and INTEGRITY would replace the darkness we are in right now.

The process of change has already begun. But, it's far from over yet. We just left the 20 year period before the 2012 Mayan prophecies date, when the transition started to unfold in a big way, bringing massive changes to the earth. We have the internet to thank for connecting the people of the world. The internet is not a lucky find or here by accident. Everything happens for a reason.

So what does this quote by Arguelles mean? We think it's WE humans who have created this massive technological boom in the last hundred or so years. It appears it's all part of the universal plan to raise the consciousness of the earth through increased communication. This rise in exposure to each other pushes us towards oneness, and the values of the next world age as the Maya predicted.

This makes us all "human." People from other countries now have a face, name and family like ours. We are connecting with these people and SHARING our cultures and lives. Even though our governments have demonized many countries, we now get to see and talk to them up close, and find they are not the devils we were lead to believe. Many don't understand the label they have been given. This is a sure sign of the beginning of "brotherhood" the Maya predicted.

The sexes have been connecting with each other on a more equal level for over fifty years. This connection is based on shared values and the equivalent contribution each makes to the whole. And, I'm not talking about physical sex or procreation.

The dance of the masculine and the feminine working EQUALLY as ONE for the common good has begun. This psychological shift represents metaphorically the "unity of the masculine and feminine within us all." To the Maya, this unity is representative of the 2012 Mayan prophecies. As a friend of mine once said, "Women are finally going to forgive men for burning them at the stake in the 1400's."

Our newest members to society, the indigo, crystal and rainbow children were born with a strong sense of "integrity." They know when someone is not being honest with them and can smell a rat quickly. Lying is becoming obsolete and will not be tolerated in the new Age.

Could it be the Maya were onto something...something so profound they had to tell us through their 2012 Mayan prophecies? They wanted to prepare us for this historical opportunity to rise in spiritual consciousness on December 21, 2012.

Our souls have been begging for change.

The values the Maya predicted...love, unity, brotherhood, and integrity are the direction of that change. It truly is a time of worldwide cleansing. The most important cleansing is taking place in our own minds...starting with personal ethics and priorities. The healing power of forgiveness will gain major importance from now till 2012. Mental change always comes before physical change. As within...so without, again.

There's been an unprecedented parabolic curve upward in communication technologies. This has connected the world together socially and economically in a way it hasn't experienced in modern times or possibly ever. Are the Maya back? Maybe they're here right now to help us make the jump towards the values of the next great cycle.

It's time to connect to our inner selves.
